About 333

The original idea for Pavilion 333 came about in the course of an application for the 2018 Biennale. Even though the application was not successful, the idea of a pavilion designed and built by students was not discarded, but was taken up by the two professorships of Hermann Kaufmann and Florian Nagler at the Technical University of Munich as part of a “DesignBuild” design studio.

The “DesignBuild” teaching method enables students to design a project with real conditions and clients from the first sketch to the finished building.

Today, Pavilion 333, a solitary structure with a square floor plan, blends confidently into its surroundings as a neighbour to the Pinakothek der Moderne, between the Türkentor and Museum Brandhorst.
